What to Expect at Your First Appointment
When you call to make your first appointment, you will speak to our new patient facilitator. She will be able to answer many of your questions and put you at ease before you even step through the door. She will also make sure you get the new patient forms to fill out at your convenience. You can bring them with you when you arrive.
Your First Visit for Cosmetic Dentistry
If your primary concern for coming to us is aesthetic, we will address that first. The new patient facilitator will greet you in the waiting room at your first appointment and escort you to an exam room where we will photograph your face and mouth. Then she will accompany you to a consultation room and introduce you to Dr. Gavrilos. He will conduct a complimentary consultation with you to find out how you would like to change your smile. You will use the photos just taken as well as photos of the cosmetic work Dr. Gavrilos has completed for other patients to pick out the elements you would like in your new smile. Then you will be scheduled for the full exam appointment, detailed below.
Your First Visit for General Dentistry
You’ll be greeted by the same patient facilitator you spoke to on the phone, and she will take you to a consultation room and introduce you to Dr. Gavrilos for your pre-clinical interview. We’ll document your previous dental care to form a baseline for your treatment. After the interview, we will take x-rays and complete a comprehensive exam. We will check for issues regarding your head and neck and your TMJ or jaw joint. We will also conduct a cancer screening and take measurements of the pockets in your gums to detect periodontal disease. The entire appointment will last about an hour.
