Barrington Porcelain Veneers

Dr. Gavrilos uses ultra-thin porcelain wafers to transform the size, shape, and color of the teeth. You can have any shade you want and almost any shape, within the constraints of proper bite and function. Gaps can be closed and chips or cracks masked behind a custom-made cover that is bonded to the tooth.

Porcelain is the ideal material for veneer treatment because it shares so many characteristics with natural enamel including texture, translucency, color, and gloss. In addition, it is actually harder and more stain resistant than natural enamel.

It is not the application of porcelain veneers that creates a beautiful smile, it is the artistry of the operator. The Porcelain Veneer Process

In determining the perfect smile design, Dr. Gavrilos will have you look through photographs of similar cases he has done. This gives you the opportunity to determine what you like and dislike—how bright you want your teeth and what shape you want your smile. Dr. Gavrilos will take your input and his artistry and experience and design a smile that will be uniquely yours. He assesses everything from your personality and the present condition of your teeth to your facial characteristics and will present to you a design that will do the most to enhance your appearance and project the personality you want to project.

After taking photographs and impressions as needed to build your case, Dr. Gavrilos will design a set of provisional veneers for you to wear for several days. Wearing this provisional smile makeover will allow you to identify anything you might want to revise. Once the exact look you want has been achieved, final veneers can be crafted by our master ceramist.

Your teeth will then be prepared for application of the veneers. Usually a small layer of enamel will be removed to ensure a seamless fit, so that there will be no irregularities in the surface of your tooth. This important step is the key to a beautiful, flawless end result. No one will be able to tell where your natural tooth ends and the veneer begins.  The veneer itself is extremely thin, about the thickness of a fingernail.
