What is a TMJ Specialist?
The American Dental Association does not recognize TMJ dentistry as a specialty, so it inaccurate to call Dr. Gavrilos a TMJ dentist or specialist. However, he has treated TMJ disorder for more than 25 years.
He pursued his training at the Dawson Academy and the Piper Education Research Center. His research, study, and clinical practice has led to his position on the board of directors for the American Equilibration Society. This is an elite organization dentist who have advanced levels of training in complex restorative dentistry.
What Can I Expect?
The most important aspect of TMJ treatment is proper diagnosis. You will receive a comprehensive exam that will enable Dr. Gavrilos to determine if TMJ disorder is causing your particular symptoms.
